Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

I have used it 4 times. Quick cooking. Ideal for 3 to 4 member family. I had same futura bigger one iodised which I have used for 10 years now. I had replaced the gasket just once. Hoping to get same reliability with this too.I cooked Kerala rice directly, which throws water from vials as expected. But when I kept Kerala rice in a vessel instead and closed the vessel with a lid then it cooked perfect.For other stuff which requires less water, feel free to use directly. Be careful cooks really fast. Much faster than u assume. Put less water and stop the moment it starts viasling in case u keep direct

Even a slight misalignment of the lid (if the rubber ring shows even one mm from the side once the lid is shut) results in steam coming out from the opposite side of the lid. Think of the cooker top as a clock. If the ring shows at 3 o clock, you'll see the steam escape from 9 o'clock. I've never let it run under such a scenario so have no idea whether that's OK or not. But I wouldn't try it. It only too easy to let the steam off the top, take the lid off and realign it to fit perfectly. Or better yet, just be precise before starting the stove.Accessories are a bit hard to come by since this is a fancier piece but I haven't really hit their official outlets, I'm sure it won't be a problem.The exit valve spurts a ton of moisture at the same level as the cooker so doing point it at any person or electric gadgets in the kitchen, In fact it's best to not use the damn valve at all or if you're in a rush to open the cooker take it to the sink and let it vent there. Solid product otherwise and much safer than conventional cookers. Also, very pretty, if you think gadgets can be pretty. I do. :)

I dont understand how exactly the working mechanism of this is but this cooker doesnt give whistles only. there is no way to understand if the food is cooked or not. Plus all the screws and nuts get lose after 1 month of usage. every time you have to tighten some or other screw and in case you lose any screw then the product can not be used at all

After comparing with many other Anodised Aluminium pressure cooker from both Hawkins and Prestige, I decided to go for stainless steel one. And after reading many reviews, I found out that inner lid pressure cooker has an advantage over the outer lid pressure cooker ones as far as safety is concerned, so I decided to go for this well built, beautifully designed hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker.I got this pretty pressure cooker on Jan-29-2015 at Rs.3,854/-..My wife absolutely loves it.. The size is just perfect for 2-4 people.We use it with Philips induction cook-top.It feels very solid to handle as it is made of stainless steel.FYI- It is not non-sticky.
