I always the enjoyed the "flavours of calicut" banana chips which I always get in an air-tight hygienic packing. The quality is very good and the order is always delivered on time. I can safely recommend this for any one who is looking for a traditional and tasty Kerala tea-time snack which is reasonably priced too. For more than one year I was stuck in California, US. Soon after my return to Delhi, I could not resist my temptation of buying my favourite banana and jack-fruit chips. I am glad to note that "falours Calicut" have more quality products to offer to the customers. After enjoying banana chips and chakka chips I have now plan to by other products also. I wish grand success to the makers and seller of these products.

First of all, the packaging the product in airtight polythene pack to keep the freshness and flavor is shows the seller's intention to make the customer feelgood attitude is highly appreciated and I don't think all sellers will be in the same vein. Being a Malayali and having lived in Calicut for more than 10 years I know a thing or two about Calicut chips. Now getting fresh Calicut chips in Mumbai is an awesome experience. Received within 7 days of ordering. Packaging is excellent with a nice accompanying note. Now about the chips. It is very nice, thin and crispy. One problem about chips is that salt content will be either too high or too low. Here it is perfect. And taste is super! Real authentic Calicut chips. I purchased 500g for Rs.299/-. Free delivery. Compared to actual price in Calicut it may be 60-70 Rupees higher. But considering delivery and packaging costs it is not high. To all Malayalies outside Kerala. Go for it. It will bring tears to your eyes. No they have not added pepper or chilli! But Nostalgia!! 16-08-2020:- Read the comments here. Some are saying that these chips are not like the Kerala chips they have tasted before. It is likely that chips they had was from another part of Kerala. Banana chips are made in almost every place in Kerala. Each has its own unique characteristics. Chips made in Southern Kerala ( Trivandrum for eg. ) are thicker and less crispy. Taste also is different. Calicut chips are thin and crispy. You will not get Banana chips that thin any where else. And Calicut Banana chips are the best!

The Calicut banana chips r quite hard to chew, not appearing to b fresh, doesn't have good fragrance of fresh coconut oil. The coconut oil seems to have been re-used oil hence coconut oil fragrance was lacking. I ordered having high opinion of Calicut banana chips but was disappointed after tasting it. The packet was not packed as it shd have been delicately done so, as two packets we're tightly wrapped in one cover compressed together therefore, I found the banana chips were little in pieces instead of neat and full. The seller didn't provide good packaging system if His packets r travelling from far distance for delivery. Calicut Banana chips r Not up to the Mark to eat and cannot b eaten during tea time. Can b taken with rice otherwise !!

I ordered from Delhi and the manufacturing date is 25/7/20...so I guess the day I ordered these batch were prepared fresh! Then packed excellently in a zipper fresh pouch and the delivered in a well packaged box from South of India to Delhi. The taste is amazing. The right crisp, the right taste of raw banana, hint of coconut oil which you can taste and the freshness in each chip is worth the 599 for 1 kg I pai hips these banana ones. Will order the jackfruit chips also maybe at some discount if I get if I buy 1 kg ????

Fresh, crunchy, and roasted in coconut oil! Most authentic taste and must buy if you love Kerala style fried in coconut oil banana chips, specially if you are living outside kerala. Plus: 1) Ofcourse the crunchy taste. 2) Resealable packaging. bought 1kg package and it was 2x500g packet each of which were resealable packages. Scope of improvement: 1) Some of the chips were broken possibly on transit(silly minor issue). Add a few air to the packet like lays packaging. I feel that will add a great value to the product.

I had bought banana chips of Kozhikode variety from "Flavours of Calicut" through Amazon, delivered free at far away Shimla! The quality was superb, reminded me of my childhood student days at Kozhikode, when I had my fair share of Kozhikodan chips..... Very crispy, thin, fried in good coconut oil, fresh...... Thank you for keeping up the heritage and name of Kozhikodan chips and for bringing Onam festival to my far away home at Shimla.

The packaging is amazing. I didn't expect it. The seal works very well. No qualms there. The crispiness is lovely. The taste is very satisfying. I'm gonna use it with different dips as well. Plus, the smell of coconut oil is so enchanting and earthy. ?? A word of caution though. It's quite high on the calorie side. 519 kcal for 100 g. Very professional of the manufacturer to mention this fact. High on sugar and fat content. So, if you're on a diet, you'll have to be careful with the quantity you consume.
